Terms of Service

Almost Dawn ("the App") is a mental health check-in tool created by Austin Burgard. By using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Your check-in notes are encrypted with a key derived from your credentials—if you lose access, we cannot recover your encrypted data.

You agree to:

• Use the App for its intended purpose—personal mental health check-ins
• Not misuse the notification system to harass or alarm others
• Not attempt to access other users' data or bypass encryption
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App

You choose who to add as your Lights. By adding someone, you consent to sharing your check-in level with them when it reaches the threshold you've set. You can remove a Light at any time.

If you serve as someone else's Light, you understand that receiving a notification does not make you a medical professional or crisis responder. Encourage professional help when appropriate.

Almost Dawn is free to use. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no premium tiers. We don't monetize your data.

Almost Dawn is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep the App reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that notifications will always be delivered on time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Austin Burgard and Almost Dawn shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to missed notifications or service interruptions.

You can delete your account at any time. We may also terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed.

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
